Maya is related to two of our true black herdsires - daughter of Prophet and sister of Saviero. One of my favorites, I love that she inherited her personality from Prophet - charming, proud and friendly - and the stately beauty of her momma. She's one who likes human contact, too. When I pet her she stands still going into sort of lala land enjoying the attention, sometimes cushing down for a nap at the end. She is so gorgeous. What a beautiful copper color...and that topknot just like her dad's, so full that she needs to push back her fiber on the fence to see.

It took awhile of purchasing and matching to bring this little gem into the world. Prophet and Sunburst were purchased our first year as foundation in 2006, Prophet at just two days old for $12,000 and Sunburst as a young proven mom with her first newborn son for $25,000. I raised Prophet and waited for him to mature before he combined with Sunburst to create their little princess Maya. It was definitely a long range plan that worked out perfectly.

Same with my Akeela, purchased in the beginning as a pregnant maiden who then had baby Amare out of the Kobe/Prince line. Now with Maya and grown-up Amare bred for their first offspring, the anticipation is over the top. I am offering to sell their baby, but I would prefer that you would take delivery after the baby is grown up and weaned. That way I get to enjoy doting on the baby and you get to enjoy all the babies who come of this pairing. Win-Win. I'm covering a huge investment to give a lucky person the benefit of all the cost and years of daily effort, so that's why I hope to be able to enjoy the cria before sending them off to you, the buyer. If the baby absorbs over the winter or does not survive after born, of course I would offer a rebreed and we would try again.

Matteo is Amare's full younger brother, identical brothers. So the cria by Maya and Amare will be that combination, probably black.
