    Royal Adonis son

    JJA Royal Kratos

Huacaya, Herdsire (Male), Proven | Medium Brown

    AOA# 30651210   D.O.B. 8/3/2007, Full Peruvian

    Sire:
    JJA Royal Adonis
    | AOA# 1206128  | Bay Black
The following is just for information on the stud that put us on the map. He passed away in 2016 from an injury.

We call Adonis Donnie and we couldn't be happier with the first male that was born to us. He has a very, very calm personality which he normally puts out on his offspring. The bone on this guy is staggering. I've actually never seen another alpaca with as large a bone. Recently, Jeff was going to meet one of Donnie's offspring who was in a pen with several others. Jeff just looked at the feet to correctly guess which one was his! Incidently, that animal won 2 blues in 3 shows as a juvey. The first for that farm and his maternal siblings. Donnie improves the fleece remarkably. Even though he is dark, he puts out finer fleece on whites that have higher micron siblings from both white parents.
Here are some facts for helping you make your breeding/purchase decision:
28 registered cria as of 4/15/13
20 of those have shown (some are still too young, at farms that don't show, etc..)
Of the 20 that showed they brought home at least 45 ribbons that were either CC/RCC (4), Blue(18), Red(23)
A little over 50% of his shown offspring brought home at least 1 Blue Ribbon! 75% brought home at least 1 red-amazing odds. These include offspring from dams that didn't have other ribbon winners.
68% of cria were darker than dam. 7 cria were brown or black from white dams!
He has been bred to 4 grays (some more than once). 3 of 4 made grey. The other made TB (she has TB sire and he has lots of black in his pedigree)
At age 9 Donnie was maintaining a micron of 26.7 which is incredible for a working black male of that age! Considering the low microns and density he puts out, he could improve your whole herd for this low price. He will also put out his friendly and calm personality onto his cria. You really can't go wrong with this guy.
May 19, 2016 Our beloved Donnie passed away suddenly. It appears he either ran into a tree while all the male herd was excited about a birthing in the pasture adjacent to them or he had another male suffocate him by laying on his neck. Donnie will be terribly missed not only because he was such a sweet guy but because he has increased our enjoyment of our herd by passing on wonderfully easy going temperaments in his offspring as well as fantastic conformation and fleeces.

    Dam:
    JJA Santana's Renee
    | AOA# 1206173  | Medium Brown
Renee has been a breeze to own as she is one of those no-worry alpacas. Breeds easily, great milk producer, quality offspring time after time including a RCC male Kratos and 3x Blue Ribbon girl Adorable. Adorable also won a blue ribbon in the National Spin-off 2 yrs ago in a huge class of 12! Renee is now a Granddam to a true black girl so it is really time to have her contribute her great genetics and ease of ownership to another farm. She puts out consistent dense, shiny, very crimpy fleece so that EVERY offspring has placed at least 3rd! We bred her to our Orlando Cloud (lsg)boy Cloud Pleaser who is Bay Black and also has a gray dam. Renee's sire is the maroon 2x National Champion Santana who has made awesome grays such as Captain Nemo and also the famous Sunset Hills Andean Gold. Cloud Pleaser had 17.8 micron at 18 mths and has incredibly long staple length with beautiful crimp. Those traits coupled with gray genetics has us excited about this next cria.
Renee is due very soon. This is a great price for a two some! Price will go down to $2500 after cria is born but will increase again once pregnant. This is a great foundation girl with plenty of reproduction left in her really get a bang for your investment.

    Description

Kratos passed away within a week of being "off". Turned out to be kidney failure without any early signs of not being able to urinate. Very shocking. We loved him hard for 14 years.
Looks like Kratos made a black out of a gray girl. He looks awesome! Kratos(Cray-tose), is perfection in brown with recessive gray genetics and black. The black is strong on sires side (ARI listing show lighter but db colored up to bb, bb up to tb etc. on several animals). His maternal grandsire Santana is the sire of Sunset Hills Andean Gold. He also has the grand presence, calm personality, and his sire's lovely head which was admired greatly by Julio Sumar. Stunning, stunning fleece that just glows on high amplitude crimp on fantastic staple length. All this and a perfect bite and huge bone.
Kratos will bring to your breeding program what Adonis has been bringing to our farm and others. That is, an improvement over the dam in fineness, density, bone, and a calm, friendly personality (most of the time). Kratos has amazing crimp structure and brightness that along with fineness and density are the same ideals that won his sire 6 blue ribbons (5 were out of 6 shows as a yearling). His dam Renee has excellent fiber from her 3x AOBA champion sire Santana and her grandsires Augusto and Leon. The sire's line includes Black Magic and Royal Eros, Royal Apollo and Royal Fawn as well as Allianza through Grandam Amelie. Kratos is 15/16 Peruvian. Adonis has been making grays and blacks & Kratos has more gray on maternal side. Low micron on gray is something to strive for with the low CV's.
It is tougher to keep him cool with the amount of fleece he has, but when we can, he shines in the ring like he did at the IAOBA show!
Kratos did his sire JJA Royal Adonis proud by ranking up there with a Black Mesquite son, Black Icecapade and Express boys!
KRATOS SETTLED HIS FIRST GIRL ON THE FIRST TRY AT 2 YRS OLD!
Kratos is a fantastic brown male with HUGE potential to throw grey and black as his sire does regularly and Kratos has even more grey genetics. He has lived in the shadow of his sire and just hasn't drawn the interest in breedings. He is middle age and really would make an excellent stud somewhere else.
We have had way too many males over the years and need to make a dent in the numbers for our Two Weddings and a Barn Full Sale!
