Let's Talk About Greys!

We tend to give our alpacas short names or nicknames, so we have been calling him 'Mac'.

Mac is a 5th generation grey with several notable herdsires in his lineage -- such as famous greys Silvano, Silversmith, and McGinnis as well cornerstone studs Augusto and Peruvian King. Along with a stacked grey lineage, his extended 'family tree' is loaded with champion greys. For instance, this boy is full brother to AofO Sterling Silver and half brother to the late AofO Silver Celebration (and therefore, "uncle" to AofO Silver's Rising-Star). All are (were) multiple champion MSG studs. If you track EPDs, these things are exceptional.

Mac has a typey look, with excellent conformation on a strong & solid frame and good bite. His fiber is very uniform in color across his blanket, just like his famous relatives. He has long staple and good coverage; a consistent medium crimp amplitude and frequency from skin to tip; bright fiber with a nice shine and handle (makes a lovely, lofty yarn); and very good closeness in micron between his white and black fibers.

This boy has quality conformation and fiber characteristics that we would be pleased to add to our program. Moreover, he has the genetics for the next step up in characteristics. We have hopes for this MSG male in our herd, to bring out the silver genes that lies in some of our fawns and blacks.

Note: Since we don't have a comparable (color and fiber) male for any replacement if necessary, if Mac is sold before he is proven his warranty replacement will be a breeding to any of our herdsires including our multiple champion black male, Secret, and our upcoming notables like Longbow, Supermasive, or Major General.

Silver Elation is a rare dilute silver gray with an incredibly soft, well bundled and consistent fleece without any spots that is so dense, it feels like a heavy carpet. This male was born with a distinct Classic Silver Gray pattern which all but disappeared as his fiber dried. Every person who has seen him has been impressed by this amazing fleece that appears platinum in color with white in the neck, bib, face and legs.

When we took him to two shows in 2008, he was put into an indefinite class which did not allow him to show appropriately but he still won the Blue Ribbons in those VERY competitive classes.

WOW! Elation has matured into a beautiful masculine male with good stature. Take a look at what a consistent and nice handling fleece we took off Elation at 3 years of age! (See his attached histogram). He has consistently produced close to 5 pounds of Prime Fleece every year! AND his offspring are all exhibiting LOW CVs!!!

Elation's offspring are conformationally correct and we are very pleased with their eye popping fleeces! Take a look at his cria pictured and come back often to see new listed offspring.

Not only that, she has a sweet disposition that makes her easy to handle. This gal possesses amazing genetics that have shown thru in crias this gal has already produced. Her last cria was a little male cria that was the exact replica of her! Amazing!!

Skyline’s Rosie Dream is just that, a dream come true. She is one of the most striking females in our herd not only because of her style, beautiful head and conformation, but also because of her stunning Rose Grey fiber. The color is just amazing and her yarn always sells out first!

Rosie Dream’s dam is A of O Rose Celebration, the gorgeous full sister to Silver Celebration who was one of the most notable grey herdsires in our country until his untimely passing.


Last year Rosie delivered an incredibly handsome what I thought to be a light grey but is looking more like a light rose grey. Dreamer on Mowry Mountain and we have some great hopes for this guy!
