Huacaya, Jr. Herdsire (Male), Unproven | White

      AOA# 31936255   D.O.B. 5/12/2014 (12 yrs)

      Sire:
      Jeronimos Dark Raider
      | AOA# 31512015  | Dark Brown  |
Jeronimo's Dark Raider is the alpaca that started it all. When Jim took Barb to that first alpaca farm days at Alpacas of Indian Point Hills, it was Raider and his beautiful fleece that made her fall in love with alpacas. And the rest, as they say, is history.

The superior sire genetics of Jeronimo coupled with the true black MFI Sheira resulted in Jeronimo's Dark Raider. He is built on a solid frame with good conformation and is covered with a beautiful fine dark brown fleece rich with mahogany overtones. His yarn has been requested by numerous hand knitters because of it's color and texture.

      Dam:
      Clearview's Sonora
      | AOA# 835128  | White  |
Clearview's Sonora is our original foundation female. She was born in Canada and isn't related to most American blood lines which allowed her to be bred to just about any American herdsire. She was an excellent mother having had eight easy unassisted deliveries to date. Her cria weigh around 20 pounds and they were quite robust with excellent frames. Because she produces an abundance of milk, her cria gain weight rapidly. Right now we have two of her cria in our herd: IPRA Kiss of Light, sired by the legendary MFI Light Saber, and IPRA Desert Charmer.

Sonora was always very alert and watched over the whole herd. She was definitely the "alpha" female! She had a sense of serenity about her so that we often stalled her with younger mothers to keep them calm. She is greatly missed

      Description

IPRA Desert Charmer, nicknamed Lucky, is an alpaca with an inquisitive nature and a spark of the jokester in his eyes. He is the personal favorite of our youngest daughter. Lucky possesses many of the strong fiber characteristics of his dam, Clearviews Sonora and older maternal sister, IPRA Kiss of Light (Beaker).

He has a well developed solid frame with good density fine fleece. We are in fact quite lucky ;-) to have this guy in our herd. He is very calm and has an amiable disposition that makes him very easy to handle. Lucky has become one of our Public Relations alpacas. He is our go-to guy when it comes to interacting with the public. He's been part of 4-H trips, petting zoos, and grade school field trips. He has taken it all in stride and is always ready to go on another adventure..
