Spring 2024

Fall 2023

FUTURE SIRE!!

SCF Duke

Yak, Bull Calf (male) | Imperial

USYAKS# 23B46 | DOB: 6/4/2023

Sire:
WHF Cash

the man in black

WHF Cash

Bull (male)Imperial
IYAK - Foundation# 2C250DOB: 6/11/201511 yrs
This big guy always amazes us. He is a gentle giant. Cash loves his treats and is completely and utterly respectful to his cows, and especially to us. He is a wonder to watch and admire, his movements flowing, strong, and he is everything majestic that hooked us on this beautiful breed. He seems to instinctively know to give us space in the pasture when we are working. When with his ladies and his babies, he is a leader and a calm protector, and will be seen laying with his calves all around him giving the mommas a break. The way he follows and gives attention to each of the mommas is romantic as it looks as though he is courting each one so genuinely on late evening walks side by side. Exactly the temperament we want in a bull for our small farm and for breeding. Pedigree on Cash strongly resembles bulls in his lineage such as Dr. Lock, Dreadlock, Prince Allante and Blackberry/Diamond bloodlines. Cash was born in upstate New York at a farm that acquired it's starter herd of pedigreed animals from Montana. His horns are beautifully symmetrical with a slight bend back which is our preference. He has a flowing skirt and fiber that he is able to rub off easily in the spring by himself. Although he is easy going and will allow you a head scratch, he doesn't care for us to comb him. His hooves are slow growing and seem to self-trim as we have not had a need to trim. The black Imperial nose and curly top make him everyone's heartthrob.

OHY Crystal Gayle

Cow (female)Imperial Trim
IYAK - Foundation# 2E103, USYAKS# 17D32DOB: 6/29/20178 yrs
We call Crystal Gayle "Gigi" at the farm because she is a picture perfect copy of her momma, Gertie Gruntsalot. Gigi is super wooly and has an impressive pedigree which includes lineage from the valued bloodlines of Dreadlock, Queen Allante, and Escalade. Her fiber is superb....if we could only have enough days to comb her completely out we would know how much we actually harvest. Fiber on her is in abundance at each combing each spring. It never seems to end. She has a beautiful temperament which seems to have passed to her first calf, SCF June. They both are one of the first to greet us at the fence for treats or a nice head scratch.

Duke is a calm, friendly, sweet, beautiful eyed wooly bull calf with amazing genes.

His sire Cash is one of the best there is out there for Imperial lines, temperament, perfectly symmetrical horn set, and conformation/head size/hump/skirt.

His dam, Gigi (Crystal Gayle) brought more to the table with her gorgeous long locks, tail and temperament.

THIS is what a future herd sire looks like--respectable, trained and handled since birth, walks on halter wonderfully, waits to get into chute for combing.
