      MJI Dakota

      KikoSr. Doe (female)Palomino
      AKGA# 16P928MJI1DOB: 2/8/201610 yrs
Sire: JFK Delilah's Dam: MJI Nani Percentage: New Zealand Litter Size: Twin Birth Date: 2/8/2016 Birth Weight: 7.4 lbs Dakota is one of our top does on the farm due to her excellent parasite immunity, and mothering skills. We call her "Big Yellow" due to her size and presence. Dakota has continually produced low birth weight kids that wean with high ADGs. As a first freshener in 2017, she kidded a single buckling with no assistance. In 2019, Dakota was artificially inseminated by WMB Mingo and we were able to collect 8 embryos from that cross, Three of the offspring from that flush still reside on our ranch: Amiga, Felicity and Big Iron (one of our main herdsires). In 2023, she had triplets. At eight years old, Dakota is still going strong and we prize this longevity. this year, she was exposed to two bucks, but we 'think' she will kid at end of December with DHS Black Jack kids.

      DHS Black Jack

      KikoBuck (male)Black
      AKGA# DOB: 12/19/20196 yrs
Sire: SEV Magnum Steel Dam: MVH 531 Percentage: New Zealand Litter Size: Triplet Birth Date: 12/19/2019 Birth Weight: 8 lbs 90 Day Weight: 53 lbs Total ADG: 0.50 Performance Index: 1.18 Black Jack is a triplet out of a repeat cross between SEV Magnum Steel x MVH 531. He had a weaning weight of 47.9 pounds at 80 days and an ADG of 0.50 pounds per day. Due to his excellent growth, parasite immunity and temperament Black Jack was retained for further evaluation as a potential herd sire. As a 6 month old Black Jack was put in the breeding pen with three experienced does and successfully bred them all. His kids have all inherited his easy going attitude and are easy to work with.

      Details

One of the excellent does we raised from the Mingo x Dakota flush. Her sister, SFTX Felicity is her twin! We have a full brother, SFTX Big Iron, as one of our herdsires. She is a very friendly goat!
