Mini Nubian goat kids bred by reservation. Deposit required to hold.We love Mini Nubians! They are colorful, playful and have those great ears. In addition they are smaller than a standard Nubian goat so are much easier to handle and milk!We have been breeding Mini Nubians selectively since 2012. Folks love them but they can be challenging to find in Southern California. Some breeders have tried their hand at breeding these fine creatures but have dialed back their breeding plans making Mini Nubians somewhat scarce around here. Why might this be so? Well we have found it much more expensive to breed them because we must maintain three distinct herds (Nigerian, Nubian and Mini Nubian) since this breed is a cross. A breeder can end up with many more goats in their herd and spend a lot more money on their health and well-being.We don't overbreed our does because we want them to be healthy and happy. So we decided to breed Mini Nubians by reservation - better for the goats and better for the client family because we can work with you to provide kids in your timeframe.There are goat breeders who breed by AI (artificial insemination) and sell their buck DNA. This is done to avoid managing a herd of healthy animals and to enhance their profit. Some veterinarians engage in the practice and many do not (ask your vet why). When many purchase DNA from the same buck there is an increased opportunity for inbreeding which could produce a weakened immune system. Not our cup of tea!
