We haven't fully moved to OpenHerd - click here to see more pics & details on our site! Carries Black Flashy style and strong structure, with personality to match! Hot Shot is a head-turner who knows how to pass it on. His kids are consistently stylish, upright, and correct on their legs, with bold Nubian character and loads of curb appeal (minus the ears haha). He brings a refined head, clean lines, and a confident stance that makes his offspring stand out in the pasture. He’s especially good at stamping his kids with eye-catching general appearance and smooth, balanced frames. Best paired with: Wide, capacious does who need a little extra style and clean-up on structure. Good to know: Expect flashy kids with presence and personality, but don’t count on him to add body width. 2nd Gen. DOB 02/08/23

Highlight: 2024 MDGA Top Ten Butterfat % Notes: Moonspots, Polled We haven't fully moved to OpenHerd - click here to see more pics & details on our site! Green Gables SOF Penny Candy 2*P - F2 Mini Nubian doe, DOB 3/28/20. Polled, moonspots. Candy is a proven, well-built doe with a complete udder and documented production credentials that set her apart. She landed in the 2024 MDGA Top Ten for butterfat percentage with a 6.3% BF on 809 lbs of milk - genuinely impressive numbers for a Mini Nubian, and the kind of butterfat that makes a real difference at the cheese pot. Her udder is strong fore and rear, with wide high rear attachment, solid fore attachment, good medial suspensory, and correct teat placement. She milks cleanly on the machine. Her body is substantial and well-conditioned with good depth and capacity. She does have a slightly soft chine behind the shoulders, worth noting for those with show goals, though it has not affected her function or production in any way. She comes from a slower-maturing line and has continued to improve with each freshening. Her sire is VMCH Green Gables BF Spice of Freedom, a five-time MDGA Grand Champion. Her dam was Grand Champion junior doe at the 2016 MDGA Summer V-Show. Candy herself has show ring experience and placed competitively in a class of 18 at the 2023 MDGA Summer V-Show. She carries the polled gene and moonspot genetics, both of which pass reliably to offspring. Whether your priority is the milk stand, the show ring, or the cheese cave, Candy has something real to offer.

    Details

This doeling may be giraffe polled, but it was difficult to tell for sure, so we chose to disbud her to be safe.

Trixie comes from a very milk-driven pairing. Her dam, Candy, is a productive and correct doe with a nicely attached udder, smooth shoulder assembly, and a brisket we really appreciate. Candy took a few years to reach full capacity, but she earned her milk star here as a 3F, and her foreudder has continued to improve and extend as a 4F. This year as a 5F, Candy's first milk test recorded 9.2 lbs - for reference, a gallon of milk is about 8.6 lbs.

Candy is a dream to milk and easily produced enough colostrum to feed her own trio as well as Honey’s trio, which speaks volumes about both capacity and usability. Those traits were a major reason we retained this daughter.

Trixie’s sire, Hot Shot, brings heavy milk genetics. His dam was a TMGR All-Time Top 5 milker, and his paternal grandsire is the well-known SG Old Mountain Farm Elton Jay ++*B, a multi-year ADGA 99th Percentile Elite Buck whose dam holds the highest PTA and PTI for the breed. We paired Hot Shot with Candy hoping to reinforce production while maintaining structural correctness.

Structurally, Trixie reads as a refined, dairy doeling with clean lines and good overall balance. She is not a width or capacity builder and will require intentional pairings as she matures to avoid compounding narrowness, but she shows correctness through her frame, a level topline for age, and a tall, open escutcheon indicating strong future udder potential. Her thurls seem to be low, but we will see how she continues to develop.
