Cheap holistic answer to fly control

Let's face it, flies are a nuisance. They are nasty and undesirable. They are unclean and cause all kinds of problems. Flies have been around forever and I don't see them ever making the Endangered Species list, so we must learn to deal with them.
Owning livestock presents it's own sets of challenges when it pertains to the issue of fly control. Since we can never expect to wake up one day and find out that there are no more flies, we have to be diligent in trying to control them. Developing and maintaining a fly management system is imperative if one is raising livestock. There is too much at stake in terms of health, welfare and happy animals to not take this issue seriously.
