Emily the Elk meets the Alpaca Herd
We have a new four-legged living on the ranch. The neighbors have nicknamed her Emily the Elk. She has been visiting our ranch for the last week or so along with her young calf. This is the first we have had elk here in the 14+ years we have lived at the ranch. The alpacas are alarming (danger broadcast) at her but then run to check her out at the same time! Emily is curious about them also as she crossed the driveway towards the fence line the alpacas were lined up along. No nose-to-nose meeting which is what I prefer. They haven't been closer than about 20 yards from each other. Stay tuned for Emily updates!
