PRODUCT REVIEW: Alpaca Ozone Ointment
It has been awhile since we posted a product review and this is a good one. An ozone ointment for skin problems in alpacas. We have an alpaca that suffered a fly strike a couple years ago on the ears. Since then we have tried everything to heal the ear tips and promote healthy new fiber growth to prevent flies attacking this area again, but could not find anything that would work. We discovered this product and felt we had nothing to lose to try it. Well, we are glad we did! It is a little pricey at around $50-60.00 for a single jar but you only use a little dab for each application on the skin lesion you are trying to heal. It is composed of ozone treated olive oil with propolis. Ozone has been shown to have antibacterial, fungicidal and virucidal properties. The propolis provides antiprotozoal therapy. It can be used to heal skin abrasions, heal outbreaks of mange and other skin parasites, fungal lesions, any compromised skin area and aids in regrowth of fiber.
We can strongly endorse this product as delivering results and substantiating its claims. Well worth the money!
