Kiwidinok Spring Festival 2026
There’s a short window in Northern Michigan when everything feels brand new again. The snow finally gives way, the fields soften, and across local farms, new life starts to arrive—one wobbly step at a time.
At Kiwidinok Tibetan Yak Petting Farm, spring doesn’t just show up quietly—it’s something you can experience. Their annual spring festival – from March 26 – April 20, 2026, is centered around one of the best parts of the season: the arrival of farm babies.

What Makes Spring at Kiwidinok So Special
If you’ve never visited a working farm during baby season, it’s completely different from a typical summer visit. The pace is slower, a little more unpredictable, and honestly, more memorable.
You might see:
- Newborn yaks sticking close to their mothers
- Lambs learning how to balance on unsteady legs
- Curious little faces peeking out from behind fences
- Farmers moving gently through their routines, keeping a close eye on everything
It’s not staged or overly polished—and that’s exactly the point. What you’re seeing is real life on a Northern Michigan farm in one of its most meaningful seasons.
A Family-Friendly Spring Event in Northern Michigan
For families, this festival hits a sweet spot. It’s interactive without being overwhelming, and there’s enough space for kids to explore without feeling crowded.
Children tend to gravitate toward the animals right away, but they also walk away learning something—whether it’s how animals are cared for, what they eat, or how quickly they grow in those first few weeks.
For adults, it’s just as enjoyable. It’s a chance to slow down, get outside, and experience something that feels a little more grounded than the usual spring events.
When to Visit for the Best Experience
Timing matters with something like this. Baby animals arrive on their own schedule, so no two weekends look exactly the same.
Early in the season, you’ll catch the very first arrivals—tiny, still adjusting to the world around them. A little later in the spring, those same animals are more active, playful, and easier to spot.
If you’re hoping to see as many babies as possible, it’s worth checking in on timing or even planning more than one visit. The experience changes week to week.
More Than Just Baby Animals
While the newborns are the main attraction, the festival usually includes other parts of the farm experience that round out the visit.
Depending on the day, you may find:
- Farm tour walk-throughs
- Opportunities to learn about yak fiber and farm products
- Open space to explore the property and take in the surroundings
- Gift shop souvenirs to keep the memories fresh
It’s not designed to rush you through. Most people end up staying longer than they planned.
Why Events Like This Matter
In a place like Northern Michigan, farms are still a big part of the community—but it’s easy to feel disconnected from how they actually operate day to day.
Events like Kiwidinok’s spring festival help bridge that gap. You’re not just observing from a distance—you’re stepping into a real working environment during one of its busiest and most important seasons.
It’s a reminder of how much care goes into raising animals, and how closely everything is tied to the rhythms of the land.
