Join us every Saturday for our weekly FREE Drop-In Knitting & Crocheting Group. Experienced or novice, our easy chairs are a great place to meet other needlecrafters, ask questions, get hints on how-to with needles or hooks. MaryJane is full of suggestions for finding help in this group or on YouTube. We can help left-handers learn how to knit and crochet. HINT: Use a mirror so a leftie can see in reverse what a rightie is stitching. Or check out YouTube videos especially for lefties. Come in. Find a comfy seat. Fix yourself a cup of tea or instant coffee. Then sit back, relax and share some creative time with others. You can bring your own supplies. There’s no requirement to buy our yarns. We look forward to seeing you on Saturday! #creative #sacredacresfarm #knitting #crocheting #free #saturday

Palmyra, VA
Calling all parents and grandparents! Are you looking for a delightful evening of family fun and bonding? Look no further! We invite you and your little ones to a simple yet enchanting campfire event that will create cherished memories for years to come.
When I was young I loved being out after dark, catching fireflies and putting them in a jar that had a ventilated top and a wet cloth in the bottom so they’d have enough moisture to survive. They would be my blinking lantern as I fell asleep. Then I’d release them the following morning. Now, as a grownup, I look forward to sharing that simple pleasure with the children around me.
Dates: June, 3 nights per week — dates to be set when fireflies are near their peak Time: 8:30pm to 10:30pm Location: Sacred Acres Alpaca Farm 16310 James Madison Hwy, Palmyra VA 22963 (703) 945-0766 Cost: $5.00 per person; no charge for children up to age 2. Limited: 20 people per night
We will provide the campfire, marshmallows and twigs for roasting. You will need to provide your own chairs and non-alcoholic beverages of your choice. Jars with ventilated lids and moist paper towel in the bottom. We also recommend you bring your favorite insect repellent. And wear shoes appropriate for walking around the farm.
We are watching the firefly population and will set the dates as soon as their numbers begin to peak. Usually these little night fliers reach their highest numbers around July 4th. But this year they’re coming in about 4-6 weeks early due to the warm wet winter we had. A boon to bugs of all kinds. We will keep you posted and set dates as their peak time approaches. You will be able to register and pay online once we set the initial date.
