Welcome to Lonepine Alpacas
My husband and I started our farm in 2022 breeding Gotland sheep, just outside of Olds, Alberta. I am a Vet Tech (RVT) and I always enjoyed working with sheep while in school. I also have an interest in fibre arts, knitting, etc. so it seemed like a good fit. On a whim we decided to purchase two bred female alpacas, and that was it, they became my passion.
We changed our vision completely and went all in on alpacas. In 2024 we purchased a trio of dual registered (CLAA & AOA) females that were all bred. This took us down the path of learning about fleece qualities, showing, and how to make breeding decisions to improve the next generation.
Although we are a new farm, we have been lucky to have some wonderful mentors guiding us along the way. We have some great quality alpacas in our foundation animals and I have big dreams and high hopes for the future of our herd.
