  • Ranch Services

"ALWAYS BE MOVING TO HIGHER GROUND"

The top priority at Strawberry Fields Alpaca Ranch is the continual improvement of our environment on the ranch and each of the alpacas that reside here or will reside here. Their health and overall welfare is a sacred trust and our stewardship.  Myself and the staff are committed to this focus and the importance of responsible animal husbandry & breeding.

The aim is to work collaboratively and in congress with the industries governing bodies and other alpaca ranches, affiliates and businesses to advance, promote and enhance alpaca herds with integrity, consistency and dependability.

Our breeding practice priority is to produce first: healthy alpacas,  second: breed toward a breed standard which includes finer fiber with greater density and uniformity of colour and architecture in their fleeces and a richer physical confirmation, in order to be a contributor to building a secure Alpaca Industry.

Marketing is an essential aspect to the industry. SFAR is committed to educating the general public, other alpaca ranchers and farmers concerning the breed and the business by mentoring, sharing our knowledge and having experts in the industry at seminars and events held on or sponsored the ranch.

SFAR deeply believes that success on our ranch comes as a collaborative effort with everyone that does business with us so all parties have a Win Win experience. Customer's Satisfaction is at the essence of everything done here. Therefore, the bar is set high for customer service excellence.

I PLEDGE TO

√  Breed our and your females to high-quality males to produce cria that surpass the excellence of their dam and sire.

√ Provide superior animal husbandry, with particular attention to nutrition and herd health for every alpaca on our ranch. Alpacas will have current vaccinations, worming, toenail and teeth trimming consistent with industry standards in order to be responsible, professional, and honest.

√ Enable everyone we do business with to have informed consent. We will therefore be open and provide a complete, accurate and full disclosure of the alpaca’s physical condition, fiber, health care history, vaccinations, and breeding. All this information will be provided to a breeder, a buyer and/or owner of agisted alpacas.

√ Assure that animals for sale or to be bred with are physiologically and reproductively sound.

√ All terms and conditions of animal sales and breeding agreements and warranties will be made in writing and will be signed and copies held by both seller and buyer.

√ Provide and assist the buyer with registration certificates and registry transfers completed in a timely fashion with the pedigree record of each.

I DO:

√ Keep accurate, precise and detailed records for  each alpaca

√ Treat people and alpacas with respect, and openness, in order to be responsible, professional, and honest.
