Why Alpaca - So glad you asked!
1. Alpaca is hypo-allergenic as it contains no lanolin, but more importantly, there is no harsh chemical processing to remove lanolin, as in sheep's wool. It is also odor-resistant
2. Alpaca is equally as warm as wool. On other sites, you will find outrageous claims that Alpaca is anywhere from 2 to 7 times warmer than wool. When you see those claims, don't hesitate to ask the company for scientific proof, but don't hold your breath waiting for the evidence!!! We have raised alpacas for 20 years, so we know a bit about alpaca fiber.
3. Alpaca is thermo-regulating, dry or wet.
4. Alpaca is moisture-wicking and breathable.
Boot Sock: Composition: 63% Alpaca, 27% Acrylic, 6% Spandex, 2% Nylon and 2% Elastic. This means comfort and warmth in a sock that is machine wash-cold and tumble dry-low.
Hiker Sock: Composition: 58% Alpaca, 25% acrylic, 14% Nylon and 3% Elastic. This means comfort and warmth in a sock that is machine wash-cold and tumble dry-low. The hiker sock comes only in men's large (Black & Grey).
