Mobile Alpaca Breeding Options, Suri Alpaca Mobile Breeder - Wild Rose Suri Ranch
Breeding Options and Fees
We offer you the opportunity to choose the best and most convenient method for breeding your dams either on your farm or at the Wild Rose Suri Ranch. In addition to offering resident breeding services where your female alpaca stays at our farm for 60 days, we offer "drive-by" breeding at our farm, or we will bring the stud to your farm to service your female alpacas.
We will help you to choose the herd sire that will help you meet your farm breeding goals for conformation, fleece, disposition, and color based on the characteristics of prior crias produced, and the dam's dominant traits.
Option A: Wild Rose Suri Ranch Brings Stud Male to Your Farm
This option is best for dams that don't travel well, stress easily or don't do well off the home farm. These females are very sensitive to any type of change in their environment or management, or their crias require more attention and care during those first few months of life. They tend to lose weight or remain very thin while nursing the cria and may have poor appetites and require more intense daily care. Wild Rose Suri Ranch will schedule a breeding date based on the dams cycle or 14-21 days after the birth of the cria. Stud fee includes 2 trips (2 breeding cycles) to the dam owner's farm within a 120 mile radius of Havre de Grace, MD as calculated by MapQuest. Additional mileage is at a rate of $.75 per mile over the 240 mile roundtrip.
