AWH Mescalero, Apache's proud son, is a joy to behold. His name comes from a branch of the Apache tribe, showing our confidence that he will produce many crias worthy of his sire's heritage.
Mescalero has been a stand-out in the pasture since the day he was born (birth weight of 24 lb!), and judges all over the country have continued to validat that. He is now starting his breeding career, with several pregnancies to his credit, and we are offering him at this low introductory rate in 2012 to owners who have females who would benefit from his outstanding traits.
At 3 years old, Mescalero weighs 210 lbs, all bone and muscle. His blanket fleece alone weighed 5 lb this spring, with a consistent 7 inch staple length for 3 years running. Even as a breeding male his fleece retains fineness and a beautiful slick hand with twisted, independent lock and lovely luster. Everything about him is straight as an arrow.
His temperament is beautifully calm as well as quietly alert. He is a pleasure to handle, even under stressful show conditions. We are counting on him passing this lovely temperament on to his crias, as well. His first cria is due in January. We are very excited to see our first Mescalero cria. And we think you are going to want one too! Ask us about multiple breeding discounts to our herdsires.
