Description
"Ed Joe" has been with us a long time, he's sired many fabulous offspring and passed his amazing fiber density, crimp and character consistently. His fiber is still fine and could compete with animals more than half his age. Proud bearing, gorgeous head and solid, compact frame make him one of our favorite all time studs. Because of his black color and fiber density, Ed Joe's always been somewhat prone to heat stress. Hot and humid Missouri summers are rough on him. Even with fans in the barn, shade trees, and hosing to cool him several times daily, he became sterile a couple of years ago. We retain his offspring Achilles and Raven's Gabriella as foundation alpacas in our herd to preserve his wonderful genetics.
