Midnight Star Alpacas Featuring Grey & Appaloosa Genetics...

Welcome to the home of Midnight Star Alpacas! We're happy to answer any questions you have about raising alpacas, farm layout, working with the fiber and networking with other alpaca farms to help you find success.

As an alpaca breeder, having the responsibility of making choices that contribute in a positive way to the future is something we take very seriously. We do extensive pedigree research to find exactly the right animals to contribute traits to our breeding program. At shearing we evaluate fiber quality of each alpaca and that guides our breeding selections for the coming year.

Midnight Star Alpacas started in 2001 with four alpacas and grew from there to be a full service alpaca farm. We've built our own barns and fences, shear our own animals, work with the fiber, teach spinning, collaborate with many local alpaca farms and provide mentoring to new alpaca owners. From the very beginning we've been interested in breeding more compact bodied alpacas while continuing to breed for good health, better fiber, conformation and color. No easy task! We're finally at a point where we have a few second generation mini alpacas available to offer and hope for more in the future.

Appaloosa genetics have always been an interest, recently this has become a major focus for our color breeding program. With shared knowledge from established appy breeders, study of known appaloosa producing bloodlines and a little luck, we hope to produce some stunning spotted babies in the coming years!
