Description

There is no greater validation for a breeding program than the ability to repeat a specific cross that delivers that same reliable quality time and time again… The youngest of two sisters, Miss Artemisa du DNA is a young female that offers depth of genetics and quality which clearly reflects the direction our program is taking.

A direct descendant of our light herdsire, Alpacajoy Excelsior, Artemisa exhibits the signature density and impressive staple length characteristic of her paternal lineage. Her fleece carries extreme fineness within the secondary fibers that are highly aligned from skin to tip. She is very feminine and delicate in her style.

Her paternal lineage needs very little to no introduction due to the presence of some of the most respected names in the industry. As for her maternal lineage, hang in there: these are lines we have worked with for nearly 20 years. Tracing back through 6 generations of ancestors that have called our farm home since 2007, these are lines we know and trust completely, while they remain relatively unrelated to today’s best (yet overused) genetics. In a genetic pool that has become increasingly narrow, we’re more than happy to stick with some of our “old reliables” here and there. They might not be the flashiest names, but they provide a diversity we personally like to keep in our herd…

As for Artemisa’s future… well, a female of this caliber is exactly what our program is built on. However, with her sister, Miss Ambiavalence du DNA, also coming into her own, it is yet to decide whether both females will be absorbed into our foundation herd, or if we can part with one of the two… if so, which? A difficult choice, but a fortunate position to be in!
