Man of Steel Son - now breeding!

Painted Spring's Hercules

Huacaya, Herdsire (Male), Proven, Medium Fawn
| DOB: 11/12/2019
We had quite a decision to make when picking a dam to breed to 13x CH and Judge's Choice Man of Steel.

While we didn't get gray, we did get a gorgeous med fawn boy with unbelievable fleece. The pictures don't do it justice, but the shine on this fleece was blinding. I think the taupey color on his nose indicates that the gray is lurking right under the surface.

Hercules is developing into an extremely macho male who has started breeding with much success. He is small in stature, bu...

Painted Spring's Piazadora

We were blown away by this little girl's bundled fleece. She has retained her beautiful fleece in her second year and has shown well at her only 2 shows. Very outgoing personality and loves to talk to you. She's a do anything alpaca. Winning reds, blues and all colors in obstacles, showmanship and even costume. With the lines behind this girl we expect she will become an excellent foundation female. We bred her to Velasco de Alta Vista. We think this male was a perfect match for this lovely girl. ** Pia delivered a gorgeous LF male out of Velasco early in October 2015! ** Pia's second cria was a delightful multi out of the award winning sire Hobby Horse of a Different Color ** Since she has thrown color twice, we are trying her with the super dense Multi colored Dorian son Glacier. ** Pia did it again - her 2019 cria is the spitting image of his multi-colored sire. She's 3 for 3 letting the sire's color/pattern come through. ** 6/22 - Pia delivered an extremely healthy girl. White crimpy fiber and growing fast! (2/24) In 20 years of doing this we've never bred an animal and not written down who and when but it appears that we have in this case. Pia is large and growing larger, we see movement in her belly and there is no way any boy is getting close to her so we are predicting a spring baby. 5/31/24 - I was right - Pia delivered a HUGE 22# white female. I have my suspicions as to the daddy, but time will tell! As we are trying to reduce our herd, we are offering some of our best producers at reduced prices. Take advantage now and get several more cria out of this fantastic girl.

Description

This girl was a complete surprise. As spring approached, her mum kept getting bigger and bigger despite not having any record of breeding her last year. But when the baby was born, we had a pretty good idea of who the daddy was - our densely fleeced boy out of Man of Steel. What a fleece producer this girl is going to be.

She grew well as all of Pia's offspring have - over 80 # before weaning which we did before 6 months. She's continued to grow very well and we can't wait to get this fleece off of her.

In her mother's footsteps, she will make an excellent breeding prospect.
