Misti is simply gorgeous! As a 6 months old, we were still a bit uncertain about her color as her neck fiber, face, and legs were definitely black but her blanket seemed anywhere between bay black and dark brown. After her first shearing, we definitely convinced she was a bay black girl!

It's a male for Misti and Taji! This little one had a bit of a rough start but he bounced back like a champ! Turns out this lovely male is dark roan and he is in fact the second roan cria for his dam Misti! We are not sure where the roan gene comes from but it's definitely on his dam's side although she comes from two classic grey parents. It's a mystery but a good one if that. Although we specialize in classic grey, we are always happy with a roan result such as this one!

Monty has beautiful coverage, with a fine fleece and a great headstyle which is typical to this line. We can see the greying down his neckline and his top lip and chin have started to turn grey as well. We look forward to shearing him to see what this boy is hiding under his unsheared tips! Although we originally registered him as a DRG, it looks like the male might just turn out DSG afterall!

Expected genotype: Eeaa | Non-grey (could also possibly be EEaa).

Congratulations to Fermette Artisanale Fibronacci for their purchase of Monty! We can't wait to see how this little male evolves and especially to see him fully sheared as we think this male will turn out to be a silver grey roan!
