Mariposa Rose had no issues giving birth to her first cria (baby) in 2025. Her milk supply needed to be supplemented, but that is often the way it is with a first time mama.

We plan on breeding "Mary" to one of our finest herdsires Spring 2026 and will look forward to another beautiful cria in 2027.

Description

This sweet girl, Wasatch Back Rose Blossom, is a one-of-a-kind female (future breeder).

Born small (11 pounds) to a first time mama (Wasatch Back Mariposa Rose), Blossom needed supplemental feedings. That means, mama would nurse her and Blossom would have people (her breeder) and me give her a bottle of supplemental milk in between to make sure she had enough nutrition. We watched her weight and her activity closely.

This girl BLOSSOM has thrived!

She is pure joy in action!

Blossom loves people and actually will eat grain out of your hand. She began that at two months of age, which is pretty early for a cria (baby alpaca).

She's friendly, not overly friendly, and loves people. I just love how you can give her sweet eye contact, feel her amazing white fleece, and approach her without having her mother be overly protective of her.

We are going to begin halter training (she's six months old) and are looking forward to her first shearing next month. Unfortunately for me, her fleece is going to be full of HAY because we did not get her "cria tips" taken off. That means her fleece tips (ends) are like Velcro and collect every ounce of hay that she may roll in. I will need to be meticulously patient with removing each piece of vegetable matter from it.

BUT ... next year her fleece will most likely be AMAZING because of her genetics.

We don't have any intention on selling this beauty .. you'd have to make an amazing offer.
