Bentley the alpaca welcomes you to Circle Cliff Ranch Alpacas
With the business of Spring and tourists coming in to Capitol Reef Country, I've been asked, "What are the differences in the three diffrerent ranch tours that you offer?"
Let me try to clairify what the differences are.

This is one for the Books!
And would you even believe this could happen?
The sweetest family of two children and their parents came for a ranch experience this week. They had a wonderful time feeding the alpacas, and the everyone got carrot "kisses" from the alpacas. The dogs were friendly. and everyone was enjoyed themselves.
After spending time with the alpacas, the next item on the agenda was gathering eggs. I l read more...

Redford is Ready!
There's a thing about the boys (and girls) and Spring Fever and what they think about.
Usually we don't do any breedings at our ranch until April or May because it's "too cold" and we don't want our crias (babies) born when it's snowing.
Two years ago we had snow, and this year it's quite the opposite.
Today it's been in the mid 80's and the "mood" outside is definitely one where everyon read more...

Don't plan on this many eggs
It's one of the best months of the year!
Our hens are starting to lay the most colorful eggs ... green, blue, chocolate brown, tan, pink and white. They are so clever. Plus, they keep changing their hiding places. They aren't happy to lay their eggs oin their hen house. They are hiding them from me.
This is where our #ranchexperience visitors can help me.

Henny Penny and her egg
It's been a dry winter ... but cold enough that I lost one of my most favorite hens.
Henny Penny did not make it through this winter. She had three days where the cold weather was too cold for her. Even with extra care and hay in the hen house, she must have caught a chill she couldn't survive with. She had lost a few tail feathers thanks (no thanks) to Thurber earlier in the fall. He has a "thing" for chickens, unfortunately. That didn't help in her case, and a few months without tho read more...

Mother Mary and Blossom
The sweetest two alpacas have joined our ranch!
We wanted to purchase the sweetest white girl and we looked and looked until we found the nicest one -- from Wasatch Back Alpacas. Thanks to Corinna for helping me find her!
She was pregnant and we waited to get the baby until the baby (cria) was born and ready to come here. This little girl is just as sweet as can be! She's an angel and we plan on naming her Rose Blossom, calling her Blossom. She'll eat out of your hands when yo read more...

Thurber, our Livestock Guardian Dog
Thurber!
He's our new little (or big) addition to the ranch.
Thurber is the original name of our town (Bicknell). Some guy came to the town "back in the day" and offered a library if the people would change it's name to Bicknell and so they did. Little did they know that the library would consist of about 20 books that were mainly scientific and irrelevant to a good reading library kind of books. The people have been sorry ever since.

Cutest ranch visitors ever
Welcome to Summer!
Summer is usually the busiest season for ranch experiences, and having little crias (baby alpacas) at the ranch is an extra exciting draw to having people here. They are so adorable and, of course, everyone wants to be the first one who gets them to eat out of their hands.
Because we are busy, we need to remind you that we schedule a limited number of ranch experiences each day for the care of our alpacas and f read more...

Spring weather in Wayne County, Utah is crazy!
One thing we can depend upon at Circle Cliff Ranch Alpacas is that it is unpreditable.
Please plan on:
1) it may be windy;
2) it could rain;
3) it may snow;
4) it may be hot;
5) it may freeze; and
6) alpacas don't care one bit as long as they are entertained, fed, have clean water and plenty of human interactions.
Regardless of the weather, we will have a Paca Shop full read more...
