Boys and Girls and Spring ....
Redford is Ready!
There's a thing about the boys (and girls) and Spring Fever and what they think about.
Usually we don't do any breedings at our ranch until April or May because it's "too cold" and we don't want our crias (babies) born when it's snowing.
Two years ago we had snow, and this year it's quite the opposite.
Today it's been in the mid 80's and the "mood" outside is definitely one where everyone (including the hens and rooster) have love and loving on their minds.
We may begin our Spring breedings and have some cria coats ready for next year.
Typically we have seen our Spring crias go over their due dates a bit and fall crias tend to come a little early. If that pattern holds, we'll be ok. If not, we will rely on those extra coats!
Girls for "marriages" or breedings that we are planning:
Boomba, Sylvia, Norah June, Mary , Cocoa Sundae and Jasmin.
Eligible bachelors (not in any particular order):
Ollie, Redford, Melvin, Al Pacachino, Probee and Harry James
Plan on seeing a few interesting "reels" if you don't mind some "Xcellent" ones.
