UPDATE AS OF SEPTEMBER 2021: Lily is an older female.
Still in good health, but no longer part of our breeding program. She will remain on the farm for her remaining years.

Foundation females don't come better than this! We are offering for sale or lease our beloved matriarch. An outstanding mother that delivers crias in minutes without a bit of trouble. Reliable, proven, in excellent health, and OPEN...a new breeder's dream come true!

Her fifth cria was out in 10 minutes, and up and nursing in 30. 18.1 lbs. at birth, and 104 lbs. at six months. We couldn't ask for a better foundation female and terrific mom. Lily passes along her strong bone to her offspring. Her regular weight is 218 lbs.! She is tall and is queen of the pasture. Ask us to show you the picture of her udder! Her 2008 cria Naomi was 100 lbs., when she was weaned at six months. (Naomi won her yearling class at the Michigan International AlpacaFest, and won first at the National Champions' Alpaca Show in 2009.) Her 2009 cria Moriah, was 91 lbs. at six months. Lily has her own impressive show record. As a pregnant female, and giving birth to an 18-lb. cria, she yielded 8.2 lbs. of fiber! We currently have her yarn and felt for sale. You can purchase it by contacting us directly at [email protected] or by going to our website www.allthingsalpacaonline.com.

We agist our animals; so with several mouths to feed, LILY IS OPEN THIS YEAR. Purchase her now, and get her working in your breeding program.

Proven females like this are hard to come by. Lily comes with a breeding to any Sunny Meade Alpacas, Ltd. herdsire.

NOT READY TO PURCHASE, we will consider a LEASE AGREEMENT. Breed her to the herdsire of your choice!

    Description

PERFECT FOR THE SMALL BREEDER! ACOV Accoyo Greyback's Gabriel brings Accoyo genetics and fiber structure in a Dark Silver Grey.

A macho male at 210 lbs. (after shearing), Gabriel has inherited his dam's stately height and presence. "Gabe" is a grandson of CPeruvian Accoyo Express 0222 with a granddam of the Accoyo and Alianza lines.

Andy Merriwether, owner of his sire Express's Accoyo Greyback states: "He is black at the base color gene (two copies of black); so every sperm he produces has black in it, and every cria he sires will cover black (i.e. will have black as one of their two colors). So, no matter what color the cria he sires (and he can make every color because black is recessive to everything), every cria of his will be able to make black. He is also modern grey/roan, which means he has two copies of roan and will pass one of those on to all his cria. All of his cria could also make modern grey, even if they were not modern grey themselves. He does not have any white spots; so he should never make a blue-eyed white. So, he could be bred to any dam." In other words, this is a male you want to have in your breeding program!!

Second place at the 2013 Buckeye Alpaca Show (behind our Zuri), Judge Jill MacLeod stated, that he is "a tall, proportionate male with correct movement."

Our Gabe on the cover of Alpacas Magazine! "Star Struck", winner of the 2012 AOBA National Photo Competition People's Choice Award. Photo taken by Julie Bodette Verhelst/Sunny Meade Alpacas, Ltd. (where Gabe lives...and my sister outside of Toledo, Ohio!).

Gabriel is a versatile male for any breeding program. Perfect for the small or new breeder or a farm looking to add color to their herd.

He is sold with all of his ribbons and fiber samples. We have yarn to show prospective buyers. His yarn is available for purchase.

2024 fiber stats: Total weight 4.4 lbs. (blanket 2.0 lbs.) seconds 2.4 lbs.
2025 fiber stats: Total weight 6.0 lbs. (blanket 2.7 lbs.) seconds 3.3 lbs. Thirds not weighed.

GABE IS RELATED TO MOST OF THE HERD. WE HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO USE HIM IN OUR BREEDING PROGRAM. HE NEEDS TO BE IN SOMEONE'S BREEDING PROGRAM. DARK SILVER GREY MALES WITH ACCOYO GENETICS ARE HARD TO COME BY!

I AM SELLING MY HERD DUE TO MY HUSBAND'S DEATH. HIS PRICE DOES NOT ADEQUATELY REFLECT HIS VALUE OR WHAT WE PAID FOR HIS BREEDING FEE. ALL REASONABLE OFFERS WILL BE CONSIDERED.
