SELLING MY HERD DUE TO MY HUSBAND'S DEATH
About All Things Alpaca, LLC (formerly Alpacas of the Covenant, Inc.)
It isn't every day that as a small breeder, your cria is on the cover of Alpacas Magazine. That's ACOV Accoyo Greyback's Gabriel, a grandson of CPeruvian Accoyo Express 0222. (Photo taken by Julie Bodette Verhelst, Sunny Meade Alpacas Ltd., my sister.)
My late husband and I have been in the alpaca business for 23 years. As a child, I grew up on a horse farm. It didn't take long after my sister, Julie Bodette Verhelst (Sunny Meade Alpacas), bought her first alpacas in 1998, that I wanted one for my very own. Soon after, Alpacas of the Covenant, Inc. was formed. (Dick and I are retired Presbyterian ministers, hence the name.) Our herd has consisted of some of the top national bloodlines from top breeders...Snowmass Peruvian Casanova, El Nino's Accoyo Michelangelo, IncaAccoyo Star, CPeruvian Jaxon, Peruvian Magnum, Accoyo Express, and PPervian Camilio.
In addition to being alpaca breeders, my sister and I formed All Things Alpaca, LLC in 2009. We are the creators and distributors of the Alpaca Fleece-filled Bird Nesting Ballâ„¢ (PATENTED and registered trademarked). The nesting ball is a 4" diameter grapevine handcrafted with alpaca fiber for wild birds. Sold throughout the US and in Canada. Licensed by the State Departments of Agriculture in Ohio and Kentucky. You can learn more about purchasing the nesting ball for retail or for your farm store by going to www.allthingsalpacaonline.com.
Dick and I began supporting the International Children's Network/Matsiko Children International and its work with orphaned and at-risk children in Peru in 2007. Our Peruvian "daughter" Eliana, who has been one of our sponsored children, has graduated from college. She entered our lives 20 years ago as a shy little girl. ADD TOP BLOODLINES TO YOUR BREEDING PROGRAM
UPDATE MAY 2026: I AM SELLING OUR HERD DUE TO THE DEATH OF MY HUSBAND. All reasonable offers will be considered. The animals live on my sister's farm, Sunny Meade Alpacas, Ltd., near Toledo, Ohio.
Now in my late 60s, I need to find homes for my alpacas. Gabriel and Zuri will add champion genetics to your herd. Naomi is a lovely, healthy female who is able to give you crias for a couple more years. The animals are priced far below their value. Finding appropriate homes for them with established breeders is my priority.
In January 2019, after 17 years in the alpaca business, we combined our alpaca businesses into one, All Things Alpaca, LLC. (The business is located in northern Kentucky, outside of Cincinnati.) I retail luxurious alpaca apparel and household accessories, and I have gorgeous yarn from the herd for sale. In 2016, my sister Julie and I received our patent for our signature trademarked product, the Alpaca Fleece-filled Bird Nesting Ball. Available for wholesale to alpaca breeders with a reseller's license/farm store.
