Contessa is the daughter of the famous Dracula and our DPF Nicole. Contessa's fleece is buttery soft, unbelievably dense and blindingly white, with beautiful consistent high frequency crimp. Just what one would expect from this Dracula/Timoteo cross. Contessa placed consistently well in the show ring in the extremely competitive white class. Following retirement from the showring, Contessa was bred to Vengador. Her first cria is a spectacular white male who we have named, "The Chosen" (T.C.). See T.C. in our herdsire section. We had been hoping to produce a male worthy of replacing Vengador and we think we have him.
The Chosen was so impressive that we repeated the breeding and got the female version. Vengador's Countess (affectionately nicknamed Moosey) weighed in at 23 pounds at birth. Being a good sized girl with extremely dense, incredibly fine fleece with amazing staple length, lead us to believe that we have another winner. She is a sweetheart and always the first to greet visitors. Guess what-----??
The cross with Vengador was so amazing and considering his advanced age, Contessa was bred to Vengador for the third time and they produced Vengador's Crowning Glory. Crowning Glory is indeed Vengador's last cria. We said good-by to him one month prior to C.G.'s birth in June. We thought the first two crias were amazing, but it looks like 3's a charm.
Contessa's daughers Crowning Glory and Clairvoyance won their mom a blue ribbon for Produce of Dam with their extreme density and fine crimpy fleeces.
Contessa will be bred to Lonestar in the spring.
