After 10 years of producing cria, NO ONE spells consistancy better than "Captain Morgan"! Time and time again he has proven his superior genes have the ability to pass on that wonderful suri phenotype to his crias AND, after 10 years of offspring, he's still producing color champions! Captain has literally thrown every color on the chart. If you're breeding for quality AND color, here's your guy! If you're looking for consistant color production out of any colored dam, check this out: 213 crias registered - 94% LF or darker 61 white or beige dams bred - 87% LF or darker 27 black crias (over 12% of all his crias are black!) Captain Morgan is an incredible, mahogany, 3rd generation USA-born suri! If you're looking for luster, density, conformation, CONSISTANCY & pedigree, you've found it! Captain Morgan has produced 100% SURI offspring, with FEMALES gaining the upper hand! Captain's crias are known to inherit their sire's density, luster, coverage, and amazing personality. If you're looking to add prominent luster to your offspring, the Captain is your man - luster to spare on his crias! We believe this is one herdsire EVERYONE needs to take a closer look at. Winner of the 2005,2006, 2007 AND 2008 Futurity Reserve Suri Herdsire of the Year award, Captain Morgan should be in YOUR sights for future breedings. Placing 2nd in the country only to his sire, DDF Peruvian Macgyver, 4 years in a row, this is a very consistant, dependable line if you're looking to add positive suri traits to your breeding program. Ask about our SURI CRIA GUARANTEE with all Captain breedings!

      Dam:
      QA12 Valentina Import Y98 - deceased
      | AOA# 807204  | True Black
Valentina is a true black import. She has produced incredible offspring with extreme luster and lock structure. Valentina has produced 6 cria for us. Her daughter, Kona Coffee's 2005 fleece was shown at AWE and moved to the Dark Rose Grey class and took first place. Valentina is a great mother, a good milker and has very easy births. She is a full Chilean import with many years of breeding ahead of her. She is a wonderful foundation female and can bring luster, locks and color to your herd. Valentina's 2007 cria is a true black Knight Warrior. Her 2008 cria is a medium rose gray male out of Knight Warrior. Valentina has proven her ability to throw color, excellent conformation and fleece. Valentina will be rebred to Knight Warrior for a 2009 cria.

      Description

Kona is the essence of a Suri. At AWE in May 2005, Judge Ruth Elvestad not only placed her fleece in first place, but moved it to the MEDIUM ROSE GREY class. Ruth commented that there were not only sufficient white fibers there were also black fibers in the fleece. At AWE 2004 Judge Mike Safley remarked, "She is very typey." There is not one thing we would add to her. Her luster is even better with her second fleece. Her lock structure is consistent throughout her body. She is easy to handle and she is comfortable around people. Captain Morgan has proven his genetics through offspring like Kona. She has had 3 female crias in a row and all of them with high luster, coverage, density and beautiful locks.

Kona is co-owned with Coulter's Critters.
