Link

SaanseyBuck (male)Gold
DOB: 9/29/20196 yrs
Link is a hugely appreciated buck from Treasured Sunrise Acres in Parma, Idaho. She was willing to cross a few of her prize Saanen does with wonderful Guernsey bucks to create my second and third generations of Saanseys. Link is a tall, powerful POLLED buck with intelligence and poise. He's a big boy and is more assertive than Timbre, but still pretty easy to handle and doesn't try to break stuff. I'll be using Link sparingly until I get a really nice son out of him to be my herd sire for 3rd generation babies.

Charm

SaanseyDoe (female)Gold
DOB: 3/16/20215 yrs
Charm's aunt, Treasure, was one of my favorite goats of all time. Excellent milk production, perfect teats, large orifices, and a sweet personality. Unfortunately she passed away from a freak case of listeriosis last year, so my best friend said that I could have a daughter out of Treasure's twin sister and my sweet Timbre. Thank you Angel!! Charm freshened with a picture-perfect udder that's very easy to milk. Her FF production wasn't what I was hoping for (a steady 5lb a day), but she was a yearling and we noticed that she was also growing an incredible amount of bone (her legs are thicker than any of my older girls!) so dried her off early and gave her some more time to grow. And it worked!!! She has freshened with an even deeper body, a perfectly balanced udder, and is giving us almost a half gallon of milk a day WHILE feeding twins! I cannot wait to see what we get when those babies come off her... Sale note: Charm was doing a gallon a day, but as a second freshener it just wasn't enough to make up for last year, so I sold her to a good friend. Her daughter is doing nearly a gallon a day as a first freshener!

Laci is such a lovely girl, and POLLED, so I breathed a huge sigh of relief when she freshened with a great udder!

I wouldn't have kept her just because she's polled, or because of her adorable polka dots. But I am soooo tickled that I got a kind, productive, and beautifully built goat, WITH the fun extras!!

As a second freshener Laci has settled into a steady 10 pounds of milk a day... Absolutely amazing, especially considering that we don't provide what most would consider optimal feed for dairy goats. Our grain is only about 14% protein, and for most of the year their primary diet is foraging on two acres. They always have backup hay in the barn, but it's just orchard (and a small amount of alfalfa pellets twice a day).

Part of my goal has been to produce animals that can thrive on a forage diet. We live in such a fertile part of the world, it would be a crime not to take advantage of it.
Laci is proving to be a sensational doe that is exactly what I've been working towards.

*Sale note:
Laci's udder attachments weakened during her second freshening, so I let her go and neutered her buck kid. I had high hopes for her, but my standards are very high.
