Pedigree

This yearling recorded grade milker comes from the exact same unexpected but rewarding pairing as Bonica — a 50% Alpine / 50% Oberhasli cross that we weren’t entirely sure what to expect from at the time. While she isn’t quite as immediately eye-catching as her sister, she is showing a lot of promise as she finds her stride.

She did experience a slight setback early on due to a vaccine reaction, which temporarily slowed her progress. Thankfully, she’s recovering well, and her milk production is steadily improving as her system rebounds.

Structurally, she offers some things that really catch our eye. She shows us a strong medial and milks down beautifully, and is very easy to work with in the parlor. That kind of functionality goes a long way, especially when paired with a developing udder and a solid foundation to build on.

Once again, this unexpected breeding is proving it has depth — and we’re excited to let this one develop and show us just how far she can go.

She was used as a recip for 2026 and freshened in with a nice mammary system and was milking 6.8#/day at 32 days before her vaccine reaction.
