Yak Thukpa A super simple Thukpa recipe with yak meat, seasoned with salt, seared and sautéed with vegetables. It is flavoured with dried cheese, pepper, coriander and topped with noodles until cooked and tender. Straight from the Himalayan hills, an exotic noodle soup with tender yak meat seasoned with dried cheese, pepper and coriander.
Ingredients of Yak Thukpa 3-4 Tbsp oil 3 pounds Yak Stew meat (or ground) 2 daikon radish, julienne 2 carrots, julienne 2 onions, julienne 2-3 tsp strong dried cheese 1 pkt of egg noodles 1 tsp ginger, finely sliced 1/2 tsp whole black pepper A jug of water Salt to taste A handful of coriander, roughly chopped How to Make Yak Thukpa 1.Season the meat with salt. Heat the oil in a deep vessel, sear the meat on both sides and remove. 2.In the same vessel, saute the onions till soft. Add the meat, water and all the vegetables. 3.Sprinkle the dried cheese, pepper and more salt if required. 4.Add the coriander, cover and let it simmer for 2 hours or till the meat is tender. 5.Then gently place the noodles on top and cook for a few more minutes. 6.Serve hot.
