"Why do you do this?"

Laura sees Polly again
I'm often asked this question.
"Why do you do this?"
Exactly why do we open our ranch and our lives up to strangers?
Here is one example of our "WHY."
Laura.
She visited us a few years ago and met our Neapolitan Sundae (Polly) when she was only a few months old. Still nursing her mama, Praline Sundaem she was not sure of herself. She was definitely not eating grain nor taking carrots from anyone! Oh NO! She was cute and spunky but in her own baby alpaca world. Just a gorgeous, Harlequin alpaca.
Returning now to Capitol Reef National Park two years later, Laura made an appointment to have a ranch experience with us. She brought with her two friends she hadn't see for years and years and years. She chose to bring them back to us! Back to Circle Cliff Ranch Alpacas to see Polly and to see how she's grown up. She came back here to see the beauties of Wayne County and to make the connections again with the alpacas and us.
This time her visit was so much fun. She was able to feed Polly grain from her hand AND feed her plenty of carrots from her mouth -- i.e. give her carrots and get a kisses from sweet, talkative Polly.
Sidenote: It took us TWO YEARS to teach little Polly to eat carrots. Most alpacas take to it much faster but Polly didn't. She's like her daddy, Redford; it took HIM two years to learn this.
The next time Laura comes to visit us, we hope Polly will have her own little one (cria) by her side. How fun will this be for us all?
Now, If you are still reading this, THANK YOU.
It means you probably follow along or have visited here as well.
We love and appreciate you and how to are involved in either in person or vicariously.
Either way, we couldn't do this without your support through the easy times, and encouragement through the hard ones.
