Hi. New Guy here... today another new guy arrived, The Lady is calling him ‘Lucky Guy’ because.... well.... he is lucky he got himself out. He needed a little help, but like I heard them say “alls well that ends well”. He was one of those babies that has a big head that the mom can hardly squeeze out. And he was rude to start the whole birthing thing at 3pm. Everything else was perfect, he had his legs and head all right there (The Lady is super glad he had read the manual) but his mom just read more...

There was a huge emphasis on the word ‘WHAT’ and a tone of ‘!!!’ Ok... since then Ive heard a lot of talking amongst the moms... from what I understand (and Im super smart) WHITE is a dominant color an read more...

Me Now: My mommy loves me.
Um, Hi. I’m New Guy. The lady said I have this ‘Blog’ homework since I’m the first baby. She also says I’m a lot like my aunt Fairy Dust, who did the last blog series because I’m pretty outgoing. If anyone noticed that the Three Amigos never did a babywatch blog last summer, they are correct... the lady told me those three were always too busy with sports and couldn’t do the Blog. They were sorta like ‘party boys’ also. They were Flakey. Now I’m stuck with it, but I don’t mind because I am read more...

Exciting news! Its a big fat full moon tonight! I'm happy because maybe the big fat gestating alpacas will have full-moon babies for me today or tomorrow. Its the weekend. It works for me... I fully bought into that hype until I noticed only half of a moon out that night. Those damn FB liars. Its no wonder the babies didn't come out!! Now it all make read more...

WHERE ARE THEY, you ask?! I wish I could tell you. Oh, wait... I can tell you - they're still gestating. Lazy little buggers! Its nice outside, sunny warm days and cool evenings. Who wouldn't want to live here?!! The maternity pen's pregnant females are anywhere from gestation day 337 to 353 now and there are no babies on the ground! It appears that we have entered a 'Baby Drought'. Because the next questions/comments are generally going to be something like "maybe t read more...

And so it begins... Baby Watch 2016. Alpacas gestate for at least 335 days. Normal is 340-345 days, however in the summer, for reasons not scientifically known, the female alpaca tends to gestate for maybe 345 days. Or 353 days. Or 365 days. And sometimes (yes, here... it happened) 374 days. It is impossible to lead a normal life while awaiting 'Summer babies'. You can't plan events, vacations or morning meetings very well. One of our family High School graduations was even imp read more...
