Fiber First. Patterns That Turn Heads. Alpacas That Steal Hearts.
Nestled peacefully in McLeod County, west of Minneapolis, Plumeria Ranch is home to a carefully curated herd of Huacaya alpacas — and something a little unexpected.
We've always believed that world-class fiber comes first. Dense, crimpy, full-coverage fleece with the kind of fineness that speaks for itself — that's the standard every animal on our farm is held to, spotted or not.
But we're also transitioning to focus on something rare: breeding for pattern. Pintos, Appaloosas, Harlequins — the striking color patterns that make alpacas truly unforgettable. At Plumeria Ranch, breathtaking fleece and breathtaking looks aren't a trade-off. We're working to prove they can go hand in hand.
And then there's temperament. A beautiful, fine-fleeced alpaca that's a joy to be around — curious, calm, people-friendly — is worth so much more than one that isn't. Friendly disposition is something we work very hard to develop.
All of our alpacas are registered with the Alpaca Registry, Inc. (ARI), and we are proud members of the Alpaca Owners Association (AOA).
Beyond the herd, we love sharing this animal and their wonderful fiber with our community. Stop by our SHOP page for yarn, scarves, hats, mittens, socks, and more — many handwoven, hand-knitted/crocheted right here in Minnesota from the fleeces of our own animals.
