Fabulous Fiber and Fleece Seeds

River Birch Farms is captivated by a small herd of rare (in the US) and beautiful purebred Gotland sheep that are naturally raised at the north end of the Willamette Valley in Lewis County, WA. They enjoy an easy, bucolic life in the temperate western Washington State climate. The rich soils produce lush pastures perfect for optimal fleece and fiber growth.

The flocks have been selected for their conformation and fleece quality, and the fiber offered for sale is a blend of the finest fleeces produced. Even the mature animals produce soft fiber with shine, silk and curls that are a joy to work with.

Each year, a limited quantity of elite pedigree Swedish Gotland Sheep breeding and fiber stock are available.

River Birch Farms offers raw and processed wool and fiber in a variety of natural color fiber options - ready for fiber crafters’ creative genius, who use it au natural, or blended and dyed to the shade of their preference. This fiber is perfect for felting and great fiber for any hand spinner.

River Birch Farms works with one of the finest fiber mills in the Pacific Northwest. They process the fibers without using harsh chemicals, so the natural colors have a healthy glow not only from the care the sheep receive, but also the care the fiber is given during processing.

We craft the wool and fiber products into a variety of forms that are offered for sale, including dryer balls, dryer ball kits, felted goat milk soap, and other woven and felted items.

We also have limited quantity quality Gotland sheepskins and handmade goods from fiber produced on the farm.
