Awesome Alpacas started over 20 years ago and was co-owned by Joe Porter and his sister. Today, he and his wife run the business, which ensures an expert, personal touch with every interaction.
A phenomenal choice for all your alpaca needs
Owner Joe Porter has always had an interest in the farm lifestyle and raising livestock. Joe’s passion led him to obtain a Master’s Degree in Animal Science from Clemson University. Joe eventually purchased a farm and he has been actively involved as an owner and breeder of alpacas. Joe has often been a resource for others in the industry and he has even participated in livestock judging contests nationally.
Through their extensive research and knowledge, the Porters have managed to increase their herd size from four to over 50 in just over 10 years! This impressive herd size means you will have a good variety of dams, crias, and herdsires to choose from. Please call today or stop by the farm. The Porters are very experienced and knowledgeable when it comes to alpacas, so they can answer any questions that you may have.

Awesome Alpacas is owned by Joseph & Lenell Porter. Their first animals arrived in 2003 with 4 bred females with babies by side. Since then, they have concentrated on improving and diversifying the genetics of the herd. Since 2003, Awesome Alpacas has shown their animals in shows along the east coast, amassing many award winning animals from Fawn to Grey to Black.
