Welcome to Runway Farms LLC
We are a family-run alpaca farm in the beautiful Helderberg Hilltowns, just half an hour from Albany, NY.
We started the farm just a couple of years ago, in 2023. Our goal is to gently grow a sustainable business breeding alpacas and producing high quality fiber products. Even our herd's manure contributes, helping us grow produce and improve our hay fields.
The farm store stocks alpaca yarn, alpaca products such as socks, mittens, our own hand-woven goods and other seasonal farm products. We offer farm visits by appointment only, unless an advertised open-farm day is running. Please call ahead to avoid disappointment!
Our name, Runway Farms, reflects the history of the property. The primary area housing our female alpacas was once a private runway for a small plane flown by the former owners nearly years ago. This family built many features on the farm that we now enjoy, including the lovely pond that our alpaca girls live beside. On our first-ever open farm day, we were honored to have family members surprise us with a visit, showing the strong connections that remain in a close-knit small town.
