Arcona Alpacas Farewell
After 13 amazing years with our alpacas we've decided it's time to retire and say farewell to our alpacas. Our dad, who recently passed away at age 99, got us started in this business. The experience brought together 4 generations and provided so many wonderful experiences and memories. We are now offering our herd of 11 show-quality Suri alpacas for sale. Our farm has been very successful in the show ring, producing national champions in halter and fleece. These alpacas represent the culmination of years of selective breeding, care, and dedication to excellence.
At the heart of our breeding program was Accoya Clara, the cornerstone of our herd and part of the last import from Peru. Clara had an extraordinary fleece with a micron of 14.5, unmatched luster, and outstanding uniformity. She passed in 2015 but left behind a lasting legacy through her many offspring. Posthumously, Clara won the MAPACA 2015 Spirit of the Industry award.
Her fleece statistics were still exceptional at 17 years: (1MFD: 22.4 SD: .5 COV: 20.3% FG30: 5.2%). Our breeding goal was to carry on Clara’s legacy, focusing on maintaining her superior fleece characteristics and temperament in future generations. The herd also carries the renowned Diamonte blood, and our most recent cria, a true black, is Diamonte’s great-grandson.
This herd has brought our family incredible joy, memories, and success, and we hope to find them a new home where they’ll continue to thrive and shine. We would love to keep them together as a herd. Package deals are a possibility and prices are negotiable. We will be happy to mentor new owners and provide ongoing support.
