Fiber To Fashion That's Fun

Welcome to SanGer-La Alpacas owned and operated by Nancy & Kris Sanger! We are dedicated to breeding alpacas for the highest qualities, expanding the use of the fiber "alpaca wool" and bringing the joys of having alpacas to others. We are here to help you discover the wonderful world of alpacas.

We have been in the Alpaca business since 2004 and we enjoy every minute of it.

Hi, I’m Nancy Sanger, a fiber artist who integrates natural alpaca fibers from our family farm into practical, sustainable, apparel using the techniques of wet felting and needle felting. Using barbed needles to twist the wisps of fiber together on my needle felting machine, I make a strong but light weight fabric that I sew into apparel. I’ll adorn these items with simple needle felted embellishments to add an extra one-of-a-kind touch. I use wet felting to make hats. My creations were seen in the Fashion Week of Rochester fashion show in 2021 and 2022. It is my hope that each person wrapped in my designs feels the same peace, warmth and joy that is emulated in nature’s beauty. Fiber to Fashion that’s fun!

We give farm/ studio tours to get you up close and personal with the alpacas and see an inside view of my fiber studio.

For a completely immersive experience, come stay with us in our Airbnb Cabin!

Thanks for visiting our site and have a great day!
