After 30 years in the alpaca business, I have made the difficult decision to begin reducing the size of my herd. What started as a passion grew into a carefully developed program built on quality genetics and thoughtful breeding, resulting in a herd I am truly proud of. However, managing the operation alone has become more than I can reasonably maintain, and it is time to downsize. As part of this herd reduction, I have made the intentional choice to include some of my prized foundation animals in the sales list—alpacas that have been instrumental in shaping the strength and consistency of my program. This transition is bittersweet, but it offers an opportunity for others to acquire animals with proven lineage and quality while allowing me to scale back responsibly.

With this philosophy in mind, The Alpacas of Phantasy Pharm was founded in 1996. Following the advice of several "giants" of the alpaca industry, Debbie Patonai, a high school mathematics teacher for over forty-five years, carefully selected her foundation herd. When she chose PPPeruvian Shannon, one of the first fawn Peruvian imports, along with other high quality Peruvian import females, the alpaca journey began. By using only championship herd sires with bloodlines from Royal Fawn, Camelot, Titan, Cordero, Dakotia, Bueno, Black Epic, Winchester, Donovan, Augusto, Quetzal, Silvio, Mesquite, Caligula, Jeremiah, Jericho, Goldsmith, Black Midnight, and Revelation, and more recently Diamante, Best in Velvet, Starz Legend, and Blackbeard, all famous for their top quality fleeces, awesome coverage, and impeccable conformation, the equation for success was solved. Today, six generations of award-winning alpacas reside at the Alpacas of Phantasy Pharm.
