Welcome to Forget the Paint Alpacas. We are a small breeding program located in the Edson area focused on producing animals that are intended to be well balanced across the board. Our goal is to produce alpacas who are above all sound in conformation and health; enjoy consistent, high quality fleece production with longevity of positive traits; who sport highly tractable temperaments. We use evidence based practices to inform our breeding decisions, and to monitor production traits. We value high quality data, and believe in the advancement of the breed by providing full transparency of all of our animal's qualities to our customers, so you can find the best animal to compliment your program.

Despite being a small program, much of our herd has been proven in the Fleece and Halter rings, and continue to show their strengths in the breeding shed. Many of our animal's have experience doing PR work and having been used for educational purposes with vets, students, and the public. We have selected our foundation stock with temperament in mind, with that soundness of mind lending to excellent traits in tractability and sociability.

We are proud, active supporters of the Canadian alpaca industry, with active memberships with Alpaca Canada, the Canadian Llama and Alpaca Association (CLAA), and the Alberta Livestock Producers and Cooperators Association (A.L.P.A.C.A.), in addition to international memberships with the Alpaca Owners Association (AOA).

We are passionate about these animals, their well-being, and the industry, and we are always happy to answer any questions or provide any support possible to anyone interested in or new to alpacas.

Farm Terms & Financing

Flexible financing and agistment available for all individual and package purchases. All funds are in Canadian dollars.

All animals come with a copy of their health records, full transfer of their registration papers, and come halter trained and up to date on all vaccinations. Breeding stock come with reproductive guarantees, and we are happy to facilitate pre-purchase vet exams for your peace of mind. Samples of fibre, additional photos/videos and copies of all histograms and technical data can be supplied on request.

We are passionate about the education and success of all alpaca owners, and the wellbeing of the animals-- so you do not need to purchase animals from us to receive lifetime mentorship and support, just reach out and ask! If you are looking for an animal with qualities that we do not have, please let us know and we will also happily refer you to farms we know who may well have the right fit for you.
