Nigerian Dwarf Goats for Show and Milk!

Located on 44 acres in the Eastern Cross Timbers, thick with post oaks, blackjack oaks and bramble, Emerald C Ranch really is a Sea of Green!

Our first dream of our move to the country included owning a herd of goats. The versatility of the goat (milk, meat and fiber) is what attracted us, fitting perfectly into our vision of a more self-sustaining lifestyle. We wanted to start small, and so we did. With the great milk production of such a small animal, along with the correct body proportions, we were drawn to the Nigerian Dwarf goats. We now focus solely on the Nigerian Dwarf as a dairy goat. They are small, hardy and manageable with just the right amount of milk, which is ideal for providing milk to a small family or used to boost the fat content of other milk!

Along with our herd of goats we have several cats, two livestock protection dogs and a varying number of chickens. Our goats provide us with milk and meat, the cats help to control pest populations, the dogs keep away unwanted domestic and wild animals, and the chickens provide us with eggs and meat. I've often compared the dynamics of the ranch to a soap opera, with interactions and drama almost constant. Obviously, we love it and it provides us with endless entertainment and challenges.

Farm Notes
Sorry, we aren't able to accommodate Farm Tours and do not have open hours for visiting. Email us at [email protected] to setup an appointment to view or pickup sale animals.

We will no longer sell individual goats to homes that do not already have Nigerian Dwarf goats. Goats are herd animals and need to be with other goats. Please purchase a wether or another goat from us or locate a companion goat prior to pickup.

If you are new to owning goats, please read through our Care Guide!

Goat Milk?
No sorry, we are unable to sell our goat milk at this time. There are several licensed dairies in the area, however, that do sell milk.

For human consumption see this list from the TX Dept of Health and Human Services.
For pet consumption see this list from the Office of the TX State Chemist, Feed and Fertilizer Control Service.

Quality Nigerian Dwarf Goats

With over 10 years experience raising and specializing in Nigerian Dwarf Goats and 8 years participating in performance programs, we breed the best for our herd and our customers. We own several permanent champion goats, high scoring in linear appraisal and have many does who have earned their milk stars.

We do not take reservations or deposits prior to a kids being born and do not maintain any lists. Available goats will be posted here on Goatzz and on Facebook when they are ready. Preference will be given to ADGA Plus and ADGA performance program herds.

While our focus is producing show and milk quality kids, we do occasionally sell mature bucks and does, does in milk, wethers and non-breeding quality kids. Only in very extreme circumstances would we sell pregnant does or kids prior to weaning, please do not ask.

The breeding herd is tested annually for CAE and any new animals for CAE, CL and Johnes. Please email us to make an appointment to view or pickup sale animals.
