At Open Spear Ranch, all our American Quarter Horses are sold by private treaty. We specialize in providing quality horses at the most competitive prices possible, and we’ll work with you to make sure you obtain a great deal. Buying Horses for Sale in Montana and Moving Them to Another State
We’ve been breeding AQHA horses in Montana for a long time now, and over the years, we’ve had people come from all over the U.S. to purchase our American Quarter Horses. If you’re thinking about coming from a different state to buy one of our horses, there are a few things you’ll need to keep in mind. For starters, any horses that travel out of state will require a Coggins test and a health certificate before they leave. Some states also require people to obtain a permit before bringing a horse across state lines. We would be happy to assist you with any out-of-state paperwork that needs to be completed, and we can also provide you with the names of transport companies if you need them.

For those coming from far away, we offer accommodations at Open Spear Ranch.
