Don’t have many friends, or would like to make some new ones? You and I will “design a class” together, I will post it, and see who else might be interested. I like to have at least three people for a class.

Headband Crochet Class
Get started with crochet! Whether you used to crochet years ago and need a refresher, or are just learning, this is the class for you! You will learn how to read a pattern, how to hold a hook, and the basic crochet stitches to make a headband. You will learn to chain stitch, single crochet, half-double crochet, and join two edges together. If time allows (and if desired), you will also be shown how to make a flower for your headband. One skein of Snuggle yarn is needed and is included in the fee for this class.
A Size N Crochet Hook is needed for this class.

Mitten Felting Class
Wet felting is one of several methods which can produce felt from alpaca and other animal fibers. Warm soapy water is applied to layers of fiber placed at 90 degree angles to one another. Repeated agitation and compression cause the fibers to hook together into a single piece of fabric. In this class you will be wet felting a pair of the warmest mittens you have ever worn. Felting around a resist, you will be amazed at how a mass of fiber magically becomes an article of clothing custom fit to your own hand ... no knitting or crocheting required! Please bring a towel, a pair of pointed scissors, a Sharpie, and a dispenser filled with liquid soap. All other materials will be provided.

Ribbed Scarf Knitting Class
In this class for new knitters you will learn essential lessons such as choosing supplies, how to cast on, knit, purl, and bind off, as you start on a beautiful scarf. This is the perfect class if you have never knitted or if it has been years since you last picked up needles! We will be using a bulky yarn, which always makes knitting go quicker, and get started making the Easy Mistake Stitch Scarf pictured above. Mistake Stitch creates a deep and lofty rib that looks like so much more work than it actually is. Two skeins of Snuggle yarn are needed for this project and included in the cost.
Size US 11 – 8.0 mm Knitting Needles are needed for class.

Bunny Felting Class
Needle felting is the process of using a single barbed needle to repeatedly jab alpaca/wool fibers causing the fiber to tangle and become compact into flat pieces or three-dimensional sculptures. In this class, taught by Julie Petty, you will be learning to needle felt a Bunny. No needle felting experience required. Limited only by your imagination, each bunny made will have his/her own personality, which makes this class a ton of fun! You will learn techniques to enable you to make other three dimensional figures as well.
Cost of class includes materials and use of felting tools needed for project.

Alpaca Rug Crocheting Class
In this class we will be crocheting a small circular rug approximately 20" across, and finish it in just a few hours time. Working with rug yarn made from the fiber of our own alpacas, it will be the softest, cushiest rug, you’ve ever sunk your bare feet into! Working with a large hook, you'll be surprised at how quickly you can make a rug. We will be using only a few simple stitches, beginning crocheters are welcome! Using the same basic pattern that you'll be learning in this class, you can then make coasters, trivets, chair pads, even pet beds out of rug yarn!
You will need a Size S or Size U Crochet Hook.

Color Block Scarf Crochet Class
Learn to read a pattern, chain stitch, single crochet, half-double crochet, change colors, and finish an edge. Two different colors of our bulky Snuggle yarn are included in the fee for this class. Be sure to check the two colors you'd like to use, when purchasing this class.

Alpaca Soap Felting Class
In this class we will be wet felting alpaca fiber over soap. Sometimes known as "soap in a coat", the finished product is your soap and washcloth all in one. Alpaca fiber and three bars of Ivory soap will be provided for the class. Easy project for adults and children.

Drop Spindle Class
Saturday, July 11th, 2015
1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
In this class you will learn to spin roving into yarn on a drop spindle, and gain the skills to spin a singles yarn. You will learn spinning related terms and leave with instructions on how to ply your singles yarn. A drop spindle and two ounces of roving is included in the class fee. By the time you are finished with this class, you will be well on your way to spinning your own hand spun yarn!

Drop Stitch Alpaca Scarf Class
You've learned how to cast on, knit, purl, and bind off, and now you're ready for a more advanced knitting project. In this class you'll be learning a horizontal drop stitch. It is quite beautiful, and easy to knit! When it comes to creating dropped stitches in your knitting, you gain the great advantage of adding an endless amount of variety by intentionally dropping your stitches! We will be knitting the scarf pictured above using our Swizzle Yarn, in the color of your choice. Two skeins of yarn are included in the fee for this class.
You will need to bring Size US 8 - 5.0 mm Knitting Needles.

Spring Petals Scarf Crochet Class
You know the basics of crochet and are ready to take on a different project. We will be making this Spring Petals Scarf out of our Astral Yarn, your choice of color. The pattern is here. We will be using a chain stitch, single crochet, double crochet, and half-double crochet. You will be learning to read a pattern, if you don't already know. You will also be learning about blocking which will show off the beauty of the lacy stitches in this pattern and make your finished scarf look professionally done. Two skeins of yarn are included in the fee for this class.
You will need to bring Size H – 5.0 mm hook.

Pumpkin Felting Class
"Take a stab" at needle felting and go home with one of these adorable (comical) pumpkins! All materials are included, felting tools and foam surface to work on are provided for use in class. Bring a picture of a celebrity or older person with distinguished features for inspiration.

Christmas Felting Workshop
This class will be an introduction to both needle felting. No experience necessary… no knitting or crocheting required! We will be felting Christmas Cookie Ornaments (snowmen, candy canes, gingerbread men, mittens, santas) and Christmas Ball Ornaments. Go at your own pace, get creative, have some holiday fun! All materials are included. Tools and foam forms needed will be furnished for the class, and available for purchase for more felting fun at home!

Purse Felting Class
Design and create a one-of-a-kind felted alpaca purse! In this class we will using the wet felting
method which is done using raw washed and carded fiber. Make a template of whatever size and shape purse or case you'd like, then add warm, soapy water and rub to create a lovely and durable fabric. No knitting is involved in this type of felting, and no fiber art experience is required to have a great time creating a one-of-a-kind piece.
Please bring a towel. Consider bringing an apron or wearing clothes you don’t mind getting wet.
If you have your own carded alpaca or wool fiber that you would like to use, be sure to select that option when registering and receive a discounted price. You will need approximately 3-4 ounces of whatever color you would like to make your purse.

Snowman Felting Class
We will be needle felting a three dimensional Snowman out of alpaca fiber, complete with whatever accessories you decided to dress him/her in. All materials are included, felting tools and foam surface to work on are provided for use in class. This is a fun class and everyone's snowman turns out so different than the others.
