News & Events
Here at Heather-Rayne Alpacas, we love to host events and to participate in community activities.
In June 2009, we started off by taking a couple of our males to the Hoop-La, in Bainbridge, NY. It was a very rainy day, but the alpacas were a big hit with everyone.
August of 2009, we hosted our first Annual Open House. This was very well attended by local folks as well as folks from New Jersye, Georgia, and California. The Open House was to start at 9:00 a.m. on August 1st, and we were lucky enough to have a cria (Nube) born at 8:45 a.m. we could not have asked for a better show piece than that.
September 2009, we did a few events: we participated in the Harvest Festival at the Farmer's Museum in Cooperstown, NY; we were participants in the National Farm Days; and we also participated in the Greene Apple Fest in Greene, NY. We took a couple of our males with us and again, they were the center of attention.
November 2009, we hosted a NeoNatal Clinic with Dr. Camann. This gave farms a chance to learn and have a hands-on experience with dystocia births. We also opened our farm up to the public for a special Holiday Shopping Weekend. What a way to start your Holiday Shopping with unique alpaca products. There's something for everyone on your list.
December 2009, we were available on weekends, and by appointment for anyone that needed that special gift.
