Basic Farm Tour: $10/person - 6 people or $60 minimu) - Learn all about alpacas while we venture out into the pastures in a free range setting. Everyone will be provided with a cup of grain and we'll hand feed the alpacas. During this time, you can ask questions and learn all about alpacas. Next, we'll show you how to card alpaca fiber on a drum carder to prepare it for spinning or felting, and you can see all the products we make with our alpaca fiber. The Basic Farm Tour takes about an hour, with 1.5 hours being the maxium time. We do have a minimum of 6 people (or $60) to schedule a Basic Farm Tour.
Felting Farm Tour (8 years old & up) $20/person - For this tour you get to do all the things included in the Basic Tour, plus you get to learn basic needle felting, and make a 5"x7" needle felted picture with alpaca fiber (on a handmade alpaca felt canvas)! It's lots of fun to "paint with alpaca fiber", and easy to do. The Felting Farm Tour generally lasts 2-4 hours, depending on how "into it" people get. Minimum of 5 people (or $100) to schedule a Felting Farm Tour.
Alpaca Birthday Party or Gathering - $15/person - 10 people or $150 minimum, 50 people maximum
Schedule a day of fun on the farm with your own get together or Alpaca Party! Feed the alpacas, play on the beach, and make a craft with alpaca fiber. Pack a picnic, plan a birthday party, etc. We have a 3-sided shelter, tables, chairs, and several canopies for shade. Choose your craft:
Nature wand: Choose a stick and wrap it with yarn. You can add fiber, gemstones, buttons, bones, etc. Fun for all ages, but can be difficult for kids under 6.
Alpaca: Color a cut-out card stock paper alpaca figure with googly eyes and closepins legs, then glue alpaca fiber onto it. Fun for all ages!
Stick Monster: Wrap yarn around a stick figure with a googly eye and add fiber and/or yarn to make the body and hair. Fun for all ages, but best for kids over 8.
Sand Art: Make a sand art peace sign, paw print, or necklace, depending what we have in stock for sand art containers.
We have hospital grade hand wipes, hand sanitizer, and a handicap accessible port-a-potty available. There is no hand sink available at this time, but we do have a hose and small baby pool for rinsing off sand, etc.
Field Trips for Schools: $10/person - 20 person or $200 minimum
Alpaca your bags and sack lunches and come out to Little Creek Alpacas for a day of learning and fun! Learn about alpacas and hand feed them in a free range setting. See some of the products we make with our alpaca fiber, then watch how we card the fiber to prepare it for spinning or felting. Each student will get to pick out a handful of alpaca fiber to make their own alpaca with. Cut-out card stock paper alpacas with googly eyes will be provided for them to color and then glue the fiber onto to. Once we're done crafting, we'll head to Sunny Beach that will be filled with toys for the kids to play with. There will be a baby swimming pool to rinse sand off with when everyone is done and we can also turn on the hose. The kids can keep any seashells that they find. Once everyone is ready to load the bus, we'll pass out alpaca swag bags to all the students so they have a little something to take home with them (2 alpaca fidget toys, stickers, mini coloring book, educational pamphlet, and a photo of one of our alpacas). Field trips are generally scheduled from 10:30am-2pm or 11am-3pm. It's hard for us to get started any sooner than 10:30am because it takes awhile to get things set-up, plus we have all of our morning farm chores.
