ENCHANTED HOLLOW ALPACAS’ MENTORSHIP PROGRAM

More and more people are discovering the joy of raising alpacas on their farms as a business or just for pleasure. Therefore, we are offering a mentorship to anyone who wants to learn and/or understand these wonderful animals.  No questions are insignificant because everything fits together in the big picture.  If we don’t know the answer, we will find it.  Alpacas are not hard to care for, nor are they expensive to raise, but they are not a pet dog or cat.  They are livestock (herd animals) and everyone who has alpacas needs to understand that they have their own set of needs.  Royce and I will not only answer those questions but invite anyone who wants to learn, to come to our farm and get hands-on experience under our supervision.  THERE IS NO CHARGE FOR THIS PROGRAM.  The whole purpose is to teach.  We also would like alpaca owners and perspective alpaca owners to understand the difference between pet quality animals, fiber quality animals, and show quality animals.  It is important to know what direction you want to take starting out so that you buy the animals that you need right from the start and don’t spend years playing catchup.  We believe that hands-on experience with alpacas will help you decide the direction you want to take.  We also want to dispel the myths surrounding alpacas.  Yes, they are small, cute and fairly easy to raise BUT, NO you should not have just one!  NO, you should not raise them like a pet dog in your house!  They are cute enough, but there are reasons for NOT doing this, along with many other things to know about them.  If you care about your animals and want to learn the ins and outs of raising them, please give us a call.  We will help you every step of the way and if you want to set up a time to come and learn, we can do that.  Some things you will learn will be feeding requirements, cleaning requirements, haltering and leading, foot care, teeth care, vaccinations, cria (baby) care, pasture care and we will gladly teach you what we have learned.  We also believe that in helping other people learn, WE will also learn.  Call or text Royce any time before 6:00 p.m. (801) 814-0445 or Julee (801) 814-3067 or send us an e-mail at [email protected].
