Our store carries all kinds of alpaca products, including yarn, hats, gloves, socks, mittens, scarves, baby blankets, throws, sweaters, dryer balls, toys, and other accessories. A portion of our annual fiber clip is sent out each year to fiber cooperatives and returned in our yarn and other products.
Alpaca fleece is often compared to cashmere wool, and it is recognized for its fineness, softness, lighter weight but warmer thermal properties, its durability, and its finer grades are thought to be hypo-allergenic. Unlike sheep wool, alpaca fiber has no lanolin, and can be spun and processed after only nominal cleaning. It will not support the growth of mold or bacteria, which makes it great as a "washcloth" for luxury soaps. Soft, luxurious hand made alpaca fiber products available.
For fiber enthusiasts, we also offer:
- Raw Fiber - full skirted blankets shorn straight from the high quality alpacas on our farm. Whether you're looking for something to dye, or natural color, we have it covered.
- Carded Fiber. We offer batts and rovings
- Dyed Fiber. We will batch and process at your request -- do you have special colors, fiber grades, or other needs?
- Alpaca Felted Soaps. Soaps are made locally by Sent with Suds and felted by Man in the Moon Farm with our own fiber. We use grade 3 and better alpaca fiber that is soft and luxurious, offering a light exfoliating effect.
Soaps are made with all natural ingredients and come lightly scented with essential oils such as peppermint, lavender vanilla, ginger spice, sweet orange, lemongrass, toasted almond coffee, spearmint, and more.
CUSTOMIZATION. We'll create a series that works with your color scheme in your desired scent(s). We can produce large rectangular bars ($9.50), medium round bars ($7.50), or small square bars ($5.00). We offer a 10% discount for purchase of three bar sets (same size & series). Allow 2 - 3 weeks for delivery depending on order size.
